Julian67  ahoy

You referenced the stoning scene from "The Life of Brian" so  :)p1

That is what happens when you eat a delicious piece of halibut.

It wasn't the only fishy smell at HA either.  And the chips were soggy.  When I said "the chips are soggy" they said "you're eating them wrong" and "all chips are crispy and what is more all fried food is *equally* crispy" and "I have never eaten chips but I know for a fact that they are always crispy, therefore you are a liar, a moron, and a troll."  But the chips were still soggy, even after being seasoned with rocks and my bone splinters.

It could be worse. Think singing Vikings and spam. You say you do not like spam but they praise spam as if it needs praise in Gregorian chant.

Sometimes people need to be fed a last chocolate before exploding like Mr Creosote.

Hi. I've been lurking here for a while after reading Purrin's dac thread on head-fi and thought it was time I registered. Reading of the more open hostility between head-fi towards changstar members after having a post of mine edited there (I suggested searching "purrin" and "dac" or something to find the new dac chart), I wish I'd done it sooner.

I don't know what a hofbrau is but if it gets you listening to Sibelius, Dag Wirén, Grieg, Halvorsen and other nordic composers then I like it  :)p4

Hi all.

I've not done much lurking; I have 'stumbled' around, once or twice, but I've recently joined and have already added a couple posts, BEFORE I spotted this introduction thread. My apologies. I hope that the plank isn't beckoning!!!

I ended up here, strangely, because of another member who mentions their deleted (Head-fi) post (a couple of posts up this page), because of their deleted post (I read it before it.....disappeared). So, thanks to them.

A bit about me:
As my moniker might suggest, bass is of some importance to me. That's not to say that I think it's everything. If it's easy to confuse me with a basshead, as some have, that's understandable. But actually, my quest is more to find equipment, both headphone and loudspeaker, that can accurately reproduce the deepest bass in a realistic fashion; the bass is just as important as the rest of the frequency spectrum, but is so often 'under-represented' (or just mis-represented (or just ignored completely!!!)!!!).

My headphone journey has been quite short; I'm approaching middle-age (read 'past it'), and have done most of my listening via speakers, and would prefer to do so if my current circumstances allowed. But, living abroad, I have now become a regular headphone user and have settled with a pair of planar phones driven by a clone type amp (check my profile for more info).

But basically I like listening through minimalist, purpose built gear, and I turn my nose up at those who listen through ipods (mp3) and personal confusers alike; it's just not 'proper' hifi, no matter how expensive the headphones!

My reason for being here: I guess, like most, I want to learn from the experiences of like minded people and, maybe just occasionally, contribute something of use, to someone (even if it is purely comedy).

Talking of comedy; surely a bit of this won't hurt.

Enjoy (I hope).

Just in case that wasn't enough "Aaaaaarrrrrrrrr M'laddy!!!", for you. Here's a bit more, (thanks to Vladimir the Inhaler).
(As it is possible to have too much of a good thing, I'd suggest playing this clip from around 1.40, so as not to overdo it.)
