Hey folks,

My name is Matt. I've been lurking around here for awhile and finally decided to get on board the ship. I'm a longtime but infrequent poster over on HF. In the last couple years, I've grown tired of the fanboy-ism and the inability of many people to tolerate difference and disagreement. I appreciate Changstar's no-BS style and openness to real conversation.

I try to keep music first in this hobby, although I readily admit that I enjoy focusing on gear. I'm at a point currently where I don't have gobs of money to spend on gear because my wife and I have a baby on the way. I went so far as to buy a GS-X mkII w/ DACT a couple years ago (based on the absolutely glowing praise over on HF). I enjoyed it but never felt like it was worth the $2500 I paid for it, so I sold it. Currently, I have an Oppo BDP-105 as a source (and amp) and Grado PS1000 as headphones. I'm thinking of picking up the Schiit Magni 2 Uber and Schiit Wyrd and then putting a moratorium on buying gear for a few years.

So that's me. Looking forward to participating in the forum.
