Welcome!  headbang

Also, whoa whoa slow down..."exit rig"? You mean, people can stop running on the upgrade hamster wheel and enjoy listening to the setup they've built?  :-DD  I roll to disbelieve.

Thanks for the welcome chief :)  An exit rig came about when I finally got to hear all the top headphones of that time...L3000, Sony R10 (light and heavy bass), HE-90, Stax 007MKI and MKII and god knows what else through the best regarded amps of the time.  I figured out what I could be happy with and keep long term....ended up with Senn HD 600, HD 650 with the B52.

Also kept my Audio Technica W1000 which were my first high end headphone when I was in college :)  I used that with my Tangent Meta42 amp that I built and was happy with through my college years.  Sold the Meta42 but kept my W1000's....for nostalgic reasons :)

Now consume audio mostly through speakers, vinyl and tube and solid state monoblocks.  Have a couple of DAC's as well (Chord QBD76HDSD and EAR DACute), but for my main listening sessions, it's about spinning vinyl.

Wow, you remember that!  Thanks :)  That was one of my favorite meets too...my family remembers it fondly as do I.  Just good times with the group.  I wonder if "BJ" is on this forum! lol  I'll never forget the QUAD 57 setup you brought over...it was magical.  Hope you still have it!

Welcome aboard dude!

Thanks bro...we might be able to do another one of those sometime.  I really really enjoyed that one.  Funny how we took over the whole house upstairs and downstairs with the most amazing rigs littered all over.  Candy land for people like us!  Good people, good vibes and good food.  Perfection.

Hi all, I'm here for a while but never introduced myself properly. I'm Brazilian and forums are the main source of information that I use to decide what equipment to buy.

I'm not experienced like you guys but I already own some headphones like: Denon D2000, Sennheiser HD650 and LCD-2F from Audeze. My amp + DAC rig is very modest a E17 + E9.

Thanks for all the help so far!

No, I don't think iPodBJ is on here.

Hi Shaizada. I hope my our irreverent attitude to expensive audiophile equipment that sucks doesn't irk you.  :)  We're more like juvenile 7 year olds than mean-spirited 40 year old virgins.

I believe PJ was on the forum for a few days, but self-destructed and deleted his own account after someone poked fun at him - mention of BJ or something... I wish I could take that one back, but I wasn't responsible and I can't keep track of what other people do despite some people thinking I am clairvoyant or like TRON or something inside the server.

Hey Marv,

I'm just glad you folks even have a place like this.  The other forum USED to be excellent and of high quality.  Now its turned into something where I found myself just going away, not posting much.

Anyhow, I was filled in on how changstar came about and I'm glad to be a part of it.
I'm more into gear that gives extremely high value for the investment.  So no problems from me about expensive gear...it's all relative :)

I think BJ just went through some trying times, so it's all good.  He is a good soul :). I wish him well in life.

Again, thanks for having me.  I enjoy genuine places carved out in this vast online wasteland.
