Dear all,
I could still remember I was around 10, when I hit play on my first "walkman" with a earbud, watching the gear rolling in a cassette tape and waiting for the tape winds: Someone is singing in my head! It was a thriller!

Hello all, I love music. Now I can afford a little bit of money, I want to enjoy the experience in my head once again. :) dropped by here from googling for HD800 mods. Looking forward to it.

Found this place after seeing Tyll's mention on innerfidelity. Currently listening to AHD 5000's through a Matrix Mini I at home and Sennheiser Momentum's at work and on the go. Was about to pull the trigger on HD 800's but want to see what Sennheiser do before doing so. I don't know a lot and one of the problems of ignorance is that it makes it harder to discern between some of the more enthusiastic clams and the more realistic. I struggled to do that elsewhere so starting from how something measures then considering the subjective views of those whose opinions merit respect seems to me the way to go.

A lot of the posters whose views I came to respect elsewhere are represented pretty well here and that's encouraging.

Even though I have a great synergy with my amp and HD800 (I use questyle cma800r) I came here because I wanted to have a go with the Anax mod and though it'd be rude not to sign up. I also like the general vibe of this place so thanks for having me.

Just joined this forum after talking to my buddy LFF...been a while since we conversed.  Just got busy with life I guess!

I graciously left headphones a few years ago with an exit rig that I could live with.  I still have that rig and just recently picked up a pair of Sennheiser HD-800 headphones mostly because they are such a synergistic match with my headphone amp.

Headphone Rig is a Ray Samuels B52 running fully balanced into Sennheiser HD800 phones using Bellatone Reference headphone cables.  Using Mullard 12AX7's or Amperex E800CC for the drivers and Tungsol 5687 Black plates for the output tubes.

Mostly I listen to a speaker system that I'm very content with with associated electronics in a dedicated listening room.

Joined here as my buddy LFF is here and looks like a good place to hang out.  Thanks for having me.

Also, whoa whoa slow down..."exit rig"? You mean, people can stop running on the upgrade hamster wheel and enjoy listening to the setup they've built?  :-DD  I roll to disbelieve.
