I generally lurk and rarely post but I've been reading the forums for a while now so I might as well get that first post in.  ahoy

Some fun facts about me:
- I have a formal musical education (20+ years piano) with some university options (my degree is comp sci)
- I once conducted a full orchestra for 10 minutes (Brahms 2nd symphony excerpt) as part of a university exam  - yes it was AWESOME
- I own a large latin LP collection and DJ for local and international salsa dance events

I really appreciate all the info that is here! It's been instrumental in helping me to decide what I want to try/buy since auditioning stuff is very difficult.

Your exam, the pure concept of it is  :)p2

I look forward to your music posts. I recently dived in to Spanish and Latin music. Los Van Van and Jarabe de Palo have been steady favourites. Often times I find Latin instrumentals just as rewarding as Funk and Metal.

Apprendo español a la escuela y hablo un poco de español. Hay mucho debo apprender pero me gusta la lengua.

Hello, name is Tristen or if we are gaming Ana or Anax. I started getting into this hobby when I bought a pair of beats. I returned them shortly there after and thought there had to be some thing better. Well that is when I started looking up head phone reviews and bought a pair of shure se425 fell in love with them. Well car got broken into they got stolen along with some other things. That is when I started reading about ciems and found my way to head fi. From there I purchased a set of 1964 ears v6 after reading all 64 pages on them there plus any reviews I could find elsewhere. And from there my journey lead me to many sites and I stumbled upon this one in my search for a neutral portable dac. I decided to join after reading because of General since of it is shit we are going to call it shit attitude. I don't make enough money and have enough time to waste it. Beside audio, I work on computers specialzing in engineering software for a company in the Houston area.

Todo mi español viene desde las letras de canciones salsa.. so in short, it's pretty bad hah.

Don't think there is a needledrop thread here but I'll upload some stuff eventually.  There is a ton of great stuff from the 60s and 70s that has never been re-issued digitally.  Lots of amateur bands that never made it big but still released some tunes con mucho sabor.

Quick question: Is there a way to jump to the last read post in a thread as opposed to just the last post?

Hey, been lurking here for a while and noticed this topic today. Started off this hobby wanting to play games late at night without disturbing anyone, progressing through low end audio-gd to high end audio-gd with a pair of markl'd denons, then a pw1->2->directstream, now I'm just ragnarok'd with a pair of kef ls50s and waiting on the ygg.  Probably going to appreciate the jump to yggy considering i'm running a modi optical atm. popcorn

Recently joined this site. Mainly interested in learning what new things can make my music listening more enjoyable.

I like the friendliness and irreverence of this site, as well as the strong focus on measurement.

Ahoy! Viking pyrate (the most feared kind) from norway here. Still young in the audio world, but old enough to know what sounds good.

This forum is amazing, glad to be a part of it.

Hello, as i can see the force is quite high here.

Just bs'ing. Actaully haven't been very much into headphones, maybe 3 years max.
First good impression was with the K701, some 6 years ago. So i thought, headphones can be quite good.
My main deal was speakers and tying to get the acoustics right. We have used Genelec 8050A monitors and have done a punch of experiments and measurements with them.
(Also tested the smaller 8040A for half a year.)

My main 'rig' atm is Zero Audio 'Tenore' and a .rockboxed Clip +   :)
