yeah... there's a good reason for no Fiio, Ibasso, etc. Some of the Fiio stuff is OK, but really just get a Clip+. Ibasso... ummm... checks all the boxes for the right tech, but always falls short when any of us listen to one.

Fiio eh, somewhat buggy firmware for some of their stuff but decent. I have more exp with the Ibasso line, Marv is right. DX50 checks the boxes for tech but the overly sensitive touchscreen and bad sound made it suck. DX90 really checks most boxes but somewhat harsh sound. Despite that though the DX90 seems to be the best I heard in terms of price vs performance. The state of DAP-fi is pretty bad. No experience with the newer stuff though.

Haha I am in Hawaii.  Christian/CEE TEE and I actually met in person while he was here in Hilo.

Hello everyone ... I have been a music lover for the last 35 years ... been getting ripped off in hi-fi for the last 25  :shark: and more recently interested in headphones ... I like the approach of this forum as I am getting tired of the fanboyism of some site and compagnies thinking my wallet is an open buffet!! Looks like I have found a place to learn and share!!

Greetings!

I have been following the measurements and CSD plots page for a while. I appreciate the opinions of many members. Marvey's article and impressions about the Massdrop AKG K7XX got me to register. I've been on Head-fi since 2011 and Changstar is a refreshing change.

I had one pair of Sony over-ear headphones (CD250) through elementary school, my walkman/discman years. Around 1996 came a pair of Sennheiser HD570 bought purely for their velour ear pads. I used those exclusively for 15 years never questioning their quality.;) I started a job in a cubicle and needed some headphones that weren't open. This began a journey that continues to this day...

I feel lucky to get into headphones at this time in history. It seems every few months there are new brands and models all competing for my ear. I cannot imagine where all this leads in 10 years. Until I make it to Canjam at RMAF, members impressions/comparisons are the closest thing I can get to hearing all of these headphones. It's probably better that way. As soon as I listen to many of these revered headphones I am sure I will decide I can't stand half of them.  ;)

Outside of headphones/music/home theater, I shoot photography and video, edit, animate and design. Thanks for having me and I hope I can contribute to the community!

Hi,
I don't really have much to say. I am a international student from China currently living in Kansas. My dad was a audiophile so that's kinda what lead me into this.
I built a maxed out B22 and a PPA a few years ago and they all sound badly, so I immediately found out I am too stupid to realize that it take much more to building a proper amplifier than just stuff things on the PCB. Then I walked away from head-fi world until recently.
Cheers.

Welcome Antifocus.  I never liked the B22 either, so it may not have been your skills!
