Yep- was referring to the IE800.  EQ or a heavily colored source might help I guess.  When I listen to the IE800s and Ultrasones, the thought that goes through my mind is, "So this is what rich people like to hear."   :P

^   But this is a K3003 thread!...specifically aimed at those who think the IE800s suck. Oh well...

The problem with the IE800s is they come with (very expensive) proprietary tips, though I've also seen a couple of people discussing Complys (don't know which model). These Senns are meant to be worn with the cable down (over the ear alters sonics a bit due to how the housings are angled). There's also the added issue of a very short cable which does not allow that kind of over-the-ear fit for many people. And then, of course, there's the veeeery microphonic cable (a shirt-clip being a must, IMO).

(BTW, there's IE800 fakes being sold).

I just noticed that Head-fi's front page now has a review of the IE800 up. I'm not sure how a review gets chosen for front page status.

Interestingly, I hear the treble, at least, more or less as described here--it wasn't sharp at all to my ears. Thin, yes, but not harsh at all. This may be because after hearing it for a minute (there was a type of treble harshness I associate with BAs) I blasted 100+dB music through it for an hour or ten. Problem solved. I had a good return policy so I figured it would either break in the driver, or simply break it.

Since Mr zerodeerfex has read "every one" of my (previous) 105 posts, I have to ask: Why keep reading posts by someone with an "incredibly high opinion of [themsef]", "constantly making [them] sound like a self-absorbed asshat", and "who believe [they're] being witty on the internet"?

This is a small forum.  Like ZeroD I read nearly every post.  It doesn't take me long at all and I'll waste my time as I please, thank you. This leaves me stuck reading all of your asshat messages as well.
