did the LCD 3 go crackle, hiss and then dead ? My LCD XC did this twice in 6 months last year. Each time I was listening to the ZD. Just trying to find a method to the madness.

Nah, it was working then it wasn't. It was pretty weird. We thought maybe a cable gave out or something upstream or the wrong input was selected.
