Rocking portable... Random travel thoughts...
shipsupt:
One of the few upsides to domestic air travel is putting together a portable rig and getting in some quality, uninterrupted listening. We are lucky at how good portable is now.
For this short trip to Houston I went with an iPod classic loaded with nearly everything, CLAS, and a newly aquired Headamp Slim driving my UE-11's. The slim keeps the brick "manageable" in size. Customs are my go to for isolation at the airport and on the plane.
Because I always like to play a little on trips I threw the Pico In the bag so I can compare the amp section vs. the slim when hanging at the hotel.
Like a boy scout I always have a back up in case any gear gives me trouble... iPad is loaded with some FLAC files. Shure 530's in case something bad happened to the UE's.
CEE TEE:
Hey ship!
Nice to hear you have the Pico Slim already, do you find it a better match for the UE 11 over the regular Pico?
How does it match up?
Happy travels...

I'll let you know how it goes when I a/b... but I really enjoyed it with the UE-11 on the flight down.

I'm hoping to be able to get a pair of customs this year. Most of my listening is done on-the-go as well (BART, work, out and about), so it'd be nice to have some high quality listening within arms reach anytime the feeling strikes.
I had a pair of E4c before I got into this hobby/sickness that I didn't care for (moar bass!). I got TF10s last Black Friday that I was impressed with for a few days but ultimately crave my full-sized setups. Hoping a pair of customs does the trick for me!

My current portable rig:
Ultra Portable:
Sansa Clip+ 8GB w/ 8GB micro card -> Fischer Audio DBA-02's
Normal Portable:
240GB iMod 5.5G iPod -> Fischer Audio Mystify PortaAmp -> Fischer Audio DBA-02's
I have some UE-10's but I rarely use them ever since I got my DBA-02's. I'd still love to get some JH-13's though....
