I love the site, Gunner is extremely talented at writing reviews and blogs on music. I am very proud of his hard work and the effort he's put into the site. Pirates should check it out!

Thanks guys! I don't think I'm particularly that great at writing reviews yet. I've a lot VN and music reviews and my writing skill doesn't come close to some of the stuff that I've read. It's a work in progress I suppose, and any criticism would be nice

As for content, I know that the blog was originally mainly for touhou music but I ended up writing mostly about VNs and games this week. There will be much more music content for sure, I promise. Especially once big events like Reitaisai and Comiket roll around.

As for appeal... Hmm, I'm not really sure on this one. I think it would be awesome if I can get someone do some custom artwork for me, instead of having to rely on re-using images. I think I may commission Itachj to do some artwork for me once I have a bit more money and perhaps a solid viewer number.

Your reviews and articles do not have to be as slick and 'perfect' as you see them in mainstream media. Peculiarities can be charming and a unique selling point (usp! thus added value!!!).

I always keep in mind the subject, the subject matter in a sentence and build the text from there.

A good exercise is to practice with haiku poems and short drafts of things you want to write about. Once you have a portfolio of drafts with ideas you just have to gather source material and work out drafts into full reviews and articles. Just remember to keep researching and to keep writing on regular basis.

Date and back-up your work and you can just keep going. Once you know how to express yourself in few words, many words become easy 

P.S. Blogs with nice photos always get more views. A cheap capable camera and plenty of light are all you need...   

Thanks for the tips! Man, I haven't written haikus in such a long time! I do have a couple of things in my drafts ready to be written about, so I guess I'll keep adding to it! I actually just posted about two really great vocal jazz songs that I've recently re-discovered; I think you guys will really like them!

One of the problems I've notice is that I can end up being really verbose sometimes. It appears frequently back when I had write academically; as a result, I got a C in my writing class during my freshman year of college xD. And if I'm not being verbose... sometimes I just don't even know what to say! @_@

I'll be taking some pictures of some of the touhou cds that I've received recently, so that will be something to write about! As per your tip, I think accompanying my shorter posts with relevant pictures would probably be nice too.
