Trying to find the e-mail from Craig regarding this amp... he mentioned something like hammer and smashing.


I don't the PS on the prototype was as good on the ZD. The original ZD had three or four 100uf film caps and two or three inductors in the power supply. I'm not sure of the coupling caps either. The Mk4 is a really good amp - better than I initially realized.

Sure please do. I've never put them side by side - so it's hard for me to say. I'm almost sure the 4-45 will be leaner or brighter sounding. Also indicate tubes used.

Ugh, this is depressing. I paid very close to 4 figures USD for THIS! I have some film caps left over from the BH Crack build. I am getting my electronics technician friend to recap every freaking cap in the box.

On his webpage it states the new BA come with the cinemags.  Did he make that switch with the 2A3 MKIV?  I believe there was some discussion about that earlier in this thread.  Thanks.
