Wow, I just realized Googlei uses that Leben at home and the Cavalli LF at work.  LOL!!  The Leben probably matches his gold wallpaper which makes it sound better.  Heaven forbid anyone sees his Cavalli at home and thinks he knows wth he's doing.

Yeah...he really has no idea wtf he is doing.

O2 amp...$30?!?!? WTF...must suck...

Leben Amp....$3,500!...must have!!!

you know what they say. you get what you paid for. the 3500 dollar amp obviously has a beefier power supply and higher end components. i mean duh! why wouldn't it?

Of course. I know he only buys the finest shit money can buy. Literally.

I believe the circuit of this amp is similar to the Dynaco ST35:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/DYNACO-SCA-35-TUBE-INTEGRATED-AMPLIFIER-DYNA-DYNAKIT-STEREO-AMP-/320851568665?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item4ab43e6819#ht_500wt_1413

Going for $350 buy it now. The Leben does have extremely expensive Hashimoto transformers in it.

did you like the LF Anaxilus?

I did like it.  But...while more dynamic than most SS stuff I've heard I don't quite feel it maximizes the potential of tubes compared to something like the BA.  Sounds more akin to what KG was doing w/ the tubes in the BH.  That was my limited take.

I spent the most time at the meet comparing Stax and Orpheus and plugging the HD800 modded into as many things with a hole as possible.

It was a little bit on the polite side wasn't it? The LF.

I've got to try and give the LF a little more time if I get the chance.  I sat with one next to a beta 22 for a few hours a while back and neither really did much for me... not that they weren't capable, but they seemed to lack anything that got me interested.

The Leben seems like an odd duck to become a "legend" just because of cost, since it wasn't designed as a headphone amp.  Someone had to start singing it's praises to give it the glory!

I tried 2 Lebens over a few days. One had some fluctuating hiss, the other some weird resonance. I returned them both. Sound was similar to what Purrin or somebody else earlier in the thread had said - similar to AM radio, sloooow and syrupy. At least the WA22 I had did it in a nice way.

LF FTW in my case.
